Luscious lashes - you’re either born with them or you’re not. Luckily, I have inherited my mum’s full flutter, but many of my friends who aren’t genetically blessed in the eyelash department, spend a small fortune on ways to make theirs appear lusher.
But lash envy need not be an issue any longer, thanks to a new breed of flutter boosting products hitting our shelves. Many products have landed on my desk, but here are a few worth splashing out on.
Cargo Lash Activator, (£19; Boots), is causing a storm in the beauty world thanks to it’s ability to expand lash length and fullness. It was sold out at Boots, but I’m told they’ve just had a fresh delivery. Lancome presents us with the Oscillation Powerbooster (£24.50), a vibrating wand (created to massage the base of lash fringe helping boost circulation and growth), which releases a super serum that can be used under mascara and during the night to help condition and prevent premature lash-loss. For those who need extra help, paint on Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die For, (£75; www.salonskincare.co.uk). The nourishing ingredients work overnight to condition the lashes and with continued use, they’ll appear longer and thicker. If your budget is tight, I recommend L’Oreal Lash Renewal Serum, (£10.99), which contains an extract from the centella asiatica plant that has traditionally been used in Asiatic and Indian medicine to support hair growth.
What’s to come - watch this space for a product called Latisse (from Allergan - the people behind Botox) - a prescription medication promising to improve the length of our lashes. It’s already huge in the US and is expected to be a big hit when it arrives in the UK.
